3 tips to help you win Squarespace clients
It’s so exciting when a new enquiry lands in your inbox or you get a great referral, so when it comes to your first interaction you want to put your best foot forward. Here are 3 easy to implement tips to help you land that dream client.
Tip 1 - Meet in Person
Always try to have an in person meeting (or video meeting) to build a relationship with the client before you hand out a quote. This allows you to listen to your potential client and fully understand their needs, if they feel like you understand what they are trying to achieve they will be much more likely to trust you to complete the project.
*If you work from home and don’t want to have clients come to you consider offering to meet at a cafe, what client won’t love being shouted a coffee and your local cafe will appreciate the support.
Tip 2 - Send a Questionnaire
Use a website survey to gather information about their website needs. You might have this as a part of your enquiry process or as a follow up to your in person meeting. A simple survey allows you to quickly understand their website objectives, understand their budget, gauge design likes and dislikes and provides you with vital information on their business. It’s a good idea to review this at the end of the project and assess if there are any new questions you might want to add to make the process even better for your next client.
See an example below for a survey we have used with our clients.
Tip 3 - Give a VISUAL QUOTE
Give your client a visual quote. When you have taken the time to meet with your potential client an understand their business and website goals, present them with a visually appealing quote. Include a detailed scope, what to expect when working with you (timeline etc.) and finally the cost so they clearly understand what to expect when working with you. You might want to include their logo, colour scheme or some imagery relevant to their business. Make them the hero and show how you will support their business by creating an awesome website.
Take it to the next level by making a one page site specifically for that client using a hidden password protected page on your site. This allows you to show off your skill and establish your creditability in the web space.
