Like any custom code, there are some vulnerabilities if Squarespace make changes. However, SquareKicker has taken significant steps to ensure this will have minimal impact on SK users.
Every tool we develop we think about the simplest way to target elements on a site to mitigate any risk. If a bug is ever picked up, we can work a fix and roll out updates directly to your website.
It’s also important to note that we are not dependent on Squarespace’s UI (User Interface) where most of the code changes and updates happen. SquareKicker has its own UI leaving it incredibly resilient to Squarespace updates.
Once on a paid plan, all your saved will be saved in your sites’ code injection area forever and are backed up to our SK server, even if your subscription expires.
SquareKicker creates compliant HTML, CSS and Javascript and stores it directly into your website’s Code Injection area. Your changes are backed up on SquareKicker’s server so you have peace of mind and never have to worry about losing your changes.
Yes. SquareKicker generates code that is assigned to a block ID. So unless you have !important tags in your custom CSS trying to overwrite something that SquareKicker is already doing, SquareKicker should always take priority. Generally speaking, we do not support 3rd party custom code but if you are experiencing an issue you can try removing all your 3rd party custom code and see if that fixes your issue. If not, feel free to get in touch.
Yes, you can uninstall SquareKicker and all your saved changes are backed up to our server. But when you uninstall SquareKicker your changes are removed from your site.
To Uninstall, go to your main SK menu in the upper right-hand corner, Account > Uninstall. SquareKicker will do a complete uninstall and remove your SK installation script and SK custom Code in your footer injection area.
To reinstall, add your unique SK script (from your SK Dashboard) to your footer injection area. SquareKicker will install on your site and all changes from your latest backup will be restored
