You do not need a SquareKicker Extension subscription to use a Template.
Templates come with a free 30 day SquareKicker Extension subscription so you can trial using the Extension to create customizations with premium design and animation tools. You only need a SK subscription to make modifications to your site so there are no ongoing costs.
You do need a Squarespace subscription to launch your Squarespace Website. Templates require a Squarespace business plan or higher and will also work on a Squarespace Free Trial. You will receive a 10% discount off your Squarespace plan when you purchase a SquareKicker Template.

SquareKicker Templates are only compatible with Squarespace 7.1 ensuring you have access to all the newest features available on Squarespace.
If you would like to update your 7.0 template with a SquareKicker template first, upgrade your website to 7.1 and then purchase and install your new template.
